Overview
This is the schematic diagram for the rear wiper controller for those who are interested. The voltage regulator circuit comprises a simple 78L05 5-Volt regulator along with a 1N4007 diode for reverse-voltage protection and a 15V TVS diode to protect against voltage surges. The circuit is controlled by a Microchip PIC12C508A 8-pin microcontroller; it receives input from the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) on pin 5 to determine the vehicle's speed, and uses pin 7 to switch on the wiper motor using an IRL520 MOSFET. After the motor has started the cycle, the MOSFET is switched off and the motor completes the cycle using its built-in circuit with the help of the HER603 high-current diode.
